Privacy Policy
Last updated August 8, 2026
This document is not yet reviewed by a solicitor. It is written to describe accurately what the site and the app actually do, so that what you read here matches what happens.
What we collect
-
Newsletter: the email address you submit, stored with our email provider.
-
Analytics: privacy-friendly, cookie-less aggregate analytics. No personal profiles.
-
Account: if you create one, your email address and sign-in details, held by our identity provider.
-
What the tools record. This is health information, and it is worth being specific rather than calling it “preferences”:
- the fasting timer keeps each fast you start and finish, with its times;
- the sobriety tracker keeps the date you started, and the label you gave it — which is usually the name of a substance you are trying to stop.
Signed out, both stay in your browser or on your phone and are never sent to us. Signing in syncs them to your account, so they follow you between the website and the app. That is the point of an account, and it means we hold them.
-
Reading: the guides you save, and the lists you file them on.
-
Retreats: enquiries and bookings you make, and the messages between you and a retreat.
-
Purchases: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store card details.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Signing in sets cookies that keep you signed in; without them the account, the sync and the shop cannot work.
How we use it
To run the tools and sync them across your devices, to send the newsletter you asked for, to pass an enquiry to the retreat you are asking, to fulfil orders, and to understand aggregate traffic.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use what the tools record to target advertising.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself — on the Account page on the website, or on the You screen in the app. Before you confirm, you are shown exactly what will happen:
- Your tools, history and profile are deleted outright.
- Bookings and reviews are kept with your name removed. A retreat and its accountants have to keep their records, and a review is something other travellers rely on.
- Anything we cannot reach from there is named on the same screen rather than left implied.
You can also email privacy@detoxible.com.
Your other rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and ask us for a copy of what we hold.
Third parties
Our identity provider, our database and hosting providers, Stripe (payments), our email provider and our analytics provider process data on our behalf under their own policies.
